PlayMemorize Who Did is a free history attribution quiz. One internationally-known event appears - your job is to pick the person responsible from a multiple-choice list. One wrong answer ends the streak; how long can you go?
Adjustable difficulty. The number of choices and the strength of the distractors are both tunable. Easy mode picks distractors from any era · Hard mode picks distractors from the SAME era as the correct answer, so "the inventor of the lightbulb" might sit next to Bell, Tesla, and Marconi.
Same data, different questions. Who Did, When Did, and Order by When all draw from the same hand-curated pool of historical events. Practising one helps with the others.
Part of the PlayMemorize family of free brain-training games. Runs entirely in your browser, works offline as a Progressive Web App.
Q: How does Who Did work?
A short description of one historical event appears - "Telephone patented", "Periodic table published". Pick the person responsible from the choices. One wrong answer ends the streak.
Q: How are the distractors picked?
At low difficulty, distractor names come from any era - so the right answer often stands out by century alone. At higher difficulty the game prefers same-era distractors, where the player needs to know not just "who invented the lightbulb" but also distinguish Edison from Bell, Tesla, and Marconi.
Q: Where do the events come from?
A hand-curated pool of internationally-known events shared with the When Did and Order by When games.
Q: Does it work in my language?
The UI is fully translated into all 25 PlayMemorize languages. Event descriptions and actor names currently ship in English with locale fallbacks · translated content drops into the same data file as it becomes available, following the pattern Riddles and Analogies use.
Q: Is it free?
Yes, completely free. No account, no ads, no paywalls. Best streaks are saved locally in your browser.
