PlayMemorize Define is a free vocabulary game. You see a single word and pick its correct meaning from multiple choices. One wrong answer ends the run - how long a streak can you build?
Generative, not hand-written. Rounds are built on the fly from three pools: the localised Unicode CLDR emoji category vocabulary ("kind of ___"), a country-to-continent pool resolved natively via Intl.DisplayNames, and a hand-curated set of semantic relation pairs ("capital of ___", "young of ___", "antonym of ___", "part of ___" and many more). Distractors are never random words - they are other correct members of the same category or relation, so you cannot eliminate by topic.
Built for all 25 languages. Category vocabulary and country/continent names are fully localised into every language PlayMemorize supports. Rule labels ("capital of", "young of", ...) are translated natively. The semantic-relation pool currently ships with English content; non-English rounds use only the fully-localised pools so every option word is in your language.
Adjustable difficulty. Choose 2 to 6 answer options. Fewer options is easier; more options forces you to verify every meaning.

Q: What is PlayMemorize Define?
A free multiple-choice vocabulary game. You see a word and pick the correct meaning from several options. One wrong answer ends the streak - your best score is saved locally.
Q: Where do the words come from?
Three pools combined: the Unicode CLDR emoji vocabulary (9 categories, thousands of words across 25 languages), a country-to-continent pool (60+ countries × 5 continents, all resolved natively via Intl.DisplayNames), and a hand-curated set of semantic relation pairs for English (capitals, antonyms, synonyms, young-of-animal, part-whole, and more).
Q: Does it work in my language?
Yes. All 25 PlayMemorize languages are supported with equal coverage. Category vocabulary, country names, and continent names are all fully localised via Intl; rule labels ("capital of", "young of", ...) are translated natively. Non-English locales exclusively use the fully-localised pools so every option word is in your language.
Q: Are the distractors random?
No. Distractors are always other correct meanings from the same category or same relation type - never random words. This forces you to truly know the meaning, not just the topic.
Q: Is it free?
Yes, completely free. No account, no ads, no paywalls. High scores are stored locally in your browser.
