What is Molecule Mash?

Molecule Mash is a curated chemistry game: you are shown a molecule and a real transformation, and you pick the correct product from a few cards. The reveal shows the formula, an explanation, the reaction type, a source, and a safety note.

Are the reactions real?

Yes. Every reaction is a familiar, textbook-accurate change with a checkable source and a declared simplification level, and each equation is mass-balanced. Distractor cards are other real molecules, never a false product of the reaction shown.

Is this a set of instructions for home experiments?

No. Some reactions (like burning hydrogen or splitting water) are demonstrations only and carry a safety note. Molecule Mash teaches what happens, not how to do it at home.

What is the difference between a physical and a chemical change here?

Melting, freezing and boiling water are physical changes · the substance stays water, only its state changes. Combustion, rusting and photosynthesis are chemical changes that make new substances. The game labels each reveal so the distinction is always clear.

Is it available in other languages?

The interface is available in all 25 PlayMemorize languages. Chemical formulas and canonical compound names stay language-neutral, as they are worldwide.
