Spot the Difference (known in Swedish as Finn fem fel, “find five errors”) is a free attention game. The screen shows two identical-looking walls of emojis, one above and one below. The bottom wall has been altered in a few places · your job is to tap every changed cell.
Pick your wall size. Choose from 100, 200, 300, 400, or 500 emojis · every option fills the screen as a perfect rectangle (10×10, 20×10, 20×15, 20×20, 25×20) so no row sticks out at the bottom. The wider the wall, the smaller the haystack-needle target.
Pick how many differences. 1, 5, 10, or 20 alterations. Two ways the bottom wall can lie · a similar emoji has been swapped in (a different smiley from the same family, a different shade of red), or an emoji has been horizontally flipped or rotated 180°. Both tricks are seeded, so the same difficulty + seed always renders the same wall.
One wrong tap ends the round. Streaks count how many walls you clear in a row. Twemoji rendering means every emoji looks identical across iOS, Android, and Windows · no platform shortcuts.
Part of the PlayMemorize family of free brain-training games. Runs entirely in your browser, works offline as a Progressive Web App.
Q: What is Spot the Difference?
A free attention game where you compare two walls of emojis and tap every cell that has been altered on the bottom wall. The game is known in Swedish as Finn fem fel ("find five errors") · the traditional name for spot-the-difference puzzles in Swedish newspapers and children's magazines.
Q: How are the differences chosen?
Two ways. The first is a visual swap · a hand-curated cluster of look-alike emojis (smiley faces, red fruits, coloured circles, numbered clocks) means the replacement is genuinely close to the original. The second is a horizontal flip or 180° rotation, applied only to emojis where the flipped form is plausible (animals with a clear orientation, vehicles, tools) - flipping a star or heart would be invisible, so those are excluded.
Q: How big can the wall get?
Up to 500 emojis on a single screen. The grid is always a perfect rectangle (no row sticks out at the bottom) and the column count adjusts automatically to your screen aspect so cells stay roughly square. On a phone in portrait you get a taller, narrower wall; on a desktop a wider one.
Q: What happens when I tap the wrong cell?
The round ends immediately. The streak counter resets and you can start a new wall. No second chances · same rule as Ghost, Polyglot, and the rest of the streak games.
Q: Can I play offline?
Yes. PlayMemorize is a Progressive Web App with every emoji bundled at install time. Once loaded, Spot the Difference works without an internet connection.
