About NATO Phonetic Alphabet
The NATO Phonetic Alphabet (also known as the ICAO spelling alphabet) is the most widely used radiotelephony spelling alphabet. It assigns 26 code words to the letters of the English alphabet (A to Z) to prevent confusion during voice transmission.
Memory Tip: To accelerate your spelling recall, visualize the phonetic words as vivid, interactive scenes. For example, picture a pilot wearing a Bravo badge eating a giant Charlie chocolate bar while dancing the Tango.
This game scales with your skill across three tiers. Easy mode asks which code word a letter takes, against other words for the SAME letter. Medium mode mixes in whole short words and expands the active letter pool. Hard mode spells a whole word, and each wrong option changes just one code word.

FAQ
-
What is the NATO Phonetic Alphabet game?
It is an adaptive training game designed to help you memorize and quickly recall the spelling alphabet used by aviation, maritime, and military services worldwide (such as Alfa, Bravo, Charlie). -
How does the difficulty scale?
Easy mode asks for the code word of one letter, with 3 choices. Medium mode mixes in whole short words and expands the active letter pool. Hard mode spells a whole word, and each wrong option changes exactly one code word. -
Are the distractors chosen randomly?
No. Every wrong option is a real word from a historical spelling alphabet that starts with the SAME letter, so the first letter tells you nothing and you must know the code word itself. -
Can I use this offline?
