About PlayMemorize Riddles

PlayMemorize Riddles is a free multiple-choice riddle game. A riddle appears, you pick the answer from 2-6 plausible options, and one wrong answer ends the run. How long a streak can you build?

Five riddle types. Classic (poetic "I am" riddles), What am I (abstract nouns), Wordplay (letter tricks, vowel puzzles), Logic (age, family, and counter-intuitive scenarios), and Math (riddles that turn on a numeric insight, not arithmetic). Filter to drill one type at a time or play "All" for variety.

Three difficulty tiers. Easy riddles are famous and well-known. Medium adds a twist of misdirection. Hard is the bat-and-ball class · the obvious answer is wrong, and you have to stop and think.

Adjustable challenge. Choose 2 to 6 answer options. Fewer options makes guessing meaningful; more options forces you to commit to the right answer even when a distractor looks tempting. Distractors are always drawn from other riddles of the same type, so you cannot eliminate by topic.

API-friendly, deterministic by design. Every round is a pure function of (filters, seed) · the same filters and session reproduce the same riddle stream. The riddle pool lives in src/lib/riddles-data.ts as plain data, trivial to extend.

Q: What is PlayMemorize Riddles?

Q: How are the riddles organised?

Riddles are tagged with a type (classic, what-am-I, wordplay, logic, math) and a difficulty (easy, medium, hard). You can filter by either, by both, or play all riddles. Distractors are always drawn from other riddles of the same type, so every option is topic-coherent.

Q: How many answer options can I have?

Between 2 and 6. Fewer options makes the game a pure knowledge check; more options forces you to discriminate between plausible-looking decoys. Your best streak is saved per (difficulty, type, answers) combination in your browser.

Q: Are the riddles hand-written?

Yes. The English pool ships with dozens of hand-curated riddles spanning all types and difficulties. Each riddle carries its own distractor list, so multiple-choice rounds stay coherent.

Q: Does it work in my language?

The UI is fully translated into all 25 PlayMemorize languages. The riddle content itself currently ships in English and falls back to English in other locales · translated pools drop into the same data file as they become available, following the same pattern as the Analogies game.
