The Labyrinth is the heart of PlayMemorize. Each level drops you into a 12×12 paper-maze: white paths, black walls, and fog of war that only lifts one tile around you in the directions you could actually walk. Start at the bottom, goal at the top.
One quest per level. Somewhere in the maze is a figure who will only let you pass once you beat their short challenge · arithmetic, sequence puzzles, colour recall, memory matches, digits of pi, and so on, drawn from the full PlayMemorize catalogue. Winning hands you the tool you need (a rope, a bucket, a ladder, a key) to clear the one roadblock standing between you and the goal.
Deterministic, save-account-free. Every level is fully reproducible from a small "save code" like LVL15-X9B2QK4-7. Bookmark or copy it; paste it back any time to resume your journey · no email, no password, no cloud. Drop a level and the previous maze is byte-identical to the one you cleared last time, so spatial memory pays off.
The other 16 PlayMemorize pages (Math, Memory, Ghost, Polyglot, Facts, …) are practice rooms for the skills you will meet inside the labyrinth.
Q: Do I need an account?
No. Your progress is encoded in a short save code like LVL15-X9B2QK4-7. Copy it, bookmark it, or paste it back any time to resume.
Q: How do I know which way to go?
Start at the bottom of the maze; the goal is always somewhere along the top row. The only cells visible at any moment are the one you stand on and the walkable neighbours in each direction · follow the light.
Q: What happens when I fail a challenge?
You drop back one level. Because every level is deterministic, the previous level looks exactly the same as it did when you cleared it · the maze layout, the quest giver's position, the roadblock, and the challenge itself are all reproduced from the save code.
Q: Do mini-games unlock over time?
Yes. Level 0-2 rolls only four gentle recall-style challenges (math, memory, colour, odd-one-out). Level 3-5 adds sequences, ghost, polyglot and spatial rotation. Level 6+ unlocks the full set of 13, including Stroop, matrix completion, analogies, unit conversion and digits of pi.
Q: Can I play offline?
Yes · the labyrinth is part of the PlayMemorize Progressive Web App. Install once and play on flights, in tunnels, anywhere.
