Timeline
About Timeline
Timeline turns history into a feel for time. Each round draws a handful of real, documented events from one era · the printing press, a moon landing, a famous treaty · and lays out a year-axis with the lowest year on the left and the highest on the right. You drag each event onto the line where you think it belongs, then reveal how close you were.
You are never wrong for a far-off guess. There is no fail state and no red cross · the game simply scores how close each placement lands to the truth, and when you reveal, it shows the correct spot on the line and the exact year of every event. Over a run you stop memorising dates and start sensing them.
The years are real. Every event and its date come from the same documented history canon the other PlayMemorize history games use, and the axis always brackets the answers · wide enough to make you think, never so wide the events vanish into one corner.
It is the drag-on-a-line companion to the tap-to-sort Ordering game. Part of the PlayMemorize family · runs entirely in your browser and works offline as a Progressive Web App.
FAQ
-
Can I get an event wrong?
Not really · there is no fail state. You place each event where you think it belongs and the game scores how close you landed. A far-off guess just scores lower; it never ends your run. -
How is my score worked out?
For each event the game measures the gap, in years, between where you placed it and its real year, relative to the span shown. The closer every placement, the higher the percentage · and your best score is kept. -
Are the dates real?
Yes. Every event and its year come from the documented history dataset shared across the PlayMemorize history games, so the answer revealed at the end is the genuine date. -
What do the numbers on the line mean?
The left and right labels are the earliest and latest years the round covers · they always bracket every answer with a margin, so the event you are placing is somewhere between them. -
Does it work offline?
Yes. PlayMemorize is a Progressive Web App, so Timeline keeps working without a connection once the page has loaded.
