Any pair of the 25 PlayMemorize locales: English, Swedish, French, German, Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Korean, Japanese, Hindi, Portuguese, Bengali, Indonesian, Czech, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Romanian, Thai, Turkish, and Ukrainian. You set the source and target languages independently, so every direction · including pairs that do not involve English · is available.

What are the three study directions?

Emoji to word shows a picture and asks for the word in your target language. Word to emoji shows a word and asks for the matching picture. Word to word shows a word in your language and asks for its translation. The emoji is a shared, language-neutral anchor, which is why the same deck works for any language pair.

Where do the words come from?

The picture decks reuse the Unicode CLDR emoji-name database · the same authoritative, native-speaker-curated source that ships with every modern operating system · so each word is a real, current term in the target language, not a textbook approximation. Topic and persona decks are authored in English and translated into all 25 languages with a review pass.

That is the plan · the picture decks cover everyday vocabulary today, and persona decks (traveller, student, business, medical, and more) are being added so learners can drill the words that matter for their situation. Each deck ships in all 25 languages.
