A 3-D spatial puzzle: a small piece made of unit cubes and a larger block are shown, and you judge how many copies of the piece the block is built from.

How do I work it out?

Count the cubes along the width, height and depth of the big block and multiply them to get its total cubes, then divide by the number of cubes in the small piece. That is how many pieces fit.

Is it really built from the piece?

Yes. The block is constructed as an exact grid of copies of the piece, so the answer is always a whole number and the puzzle is fair · there is no leftover space.

How does it get harder?

Accepted Answer

Higher difficulty brings in bigger and three-dimensional pieces, and longer streaks use more copies · so the block grows in depth as well as width and height.
